Cristy Núñez, BA, BCaBA, brings over 5 years of experience providing ABA services to families in the South Florida community. She is a member of FABA and is currently working on her Master’s degree at the University of West Florida with a dual major in Exceptional Student Education and Applied Behavior Analysis. Cristy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis in 2013 from Florida International University (FIU) and soon after became board certified as a BCaBA. She is a firm believer in the strength of ABA as an effective practice for working with individuals with ASD. Her experience ranges from teaching verbal behavior and functional communication to skill acquisition and social skills to individuals of all ages. Her therapy style for progress includes integrating care, fun, and scientifically based techniques into all sessions. In addition to providing ABA services, she is also a teacher at a small private school for children with Autism. She constantly reinvents ways to motivate children to want to learn and reach milestones in a fun, compassionate way and this is how she has seen small victories leading to great results. She shares Progressive’s vision of seeing each child as an individual, far past a diagnosis, who needs a team of people who want to push and strive to be the best they can be and have the best life possible using scientifically based/evidence based strategies to get there.
