Five years ago Nikkie embarked on a mission trip to Mexico, where she first became inspired to work with children and their families through her interactions with the natives. She has volunteered in diverse environments in which she has been able to engage with children of various exceptionalities. Nikkie received her B.S. in Psychology and Family & Child Sciences from Florida State University, where she had the privilege of working as a research assistant under prestigious professors. Her undergraduate research took a closer look at the connections among cognitive development, family relationships, and academic success. Nikkie is currently pursuing her Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University. She is excited to continue this journey of growth with PBS, doing all that she can to help children and their families progress toward their goals!
