One of the most beautiful things a parent can see is children playing peacefully and happily together.
For some children with special needs, however, play may not come easily. In our Social Skills Groups, we strengthen your child’s ability for meaningful social relationships. We do this by developing critical social skills, such as:
- The ability to actively listen.
- The ability to make friends.
- The ability to communicate and connect.
Progressive Behavioral Science’s premier Social Skills Groups provide your child with the wonderful opportunity to engage, learn and play with their peers… all under the watchful eye and guiding hand of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and a team of trained ABA therapists.
Social Skills Groups are held every Saturday in Southwest Ranches, and every other Saturday in our Kendall. Parents don’t need to stay for the session, and most insurance carriers will cover this service. Progressive also offers the option of private pay.
This group is perfect if your child may need help with:
- Greeting peers and adults appropriately
- Initiating interactions with peers
- Sharing with peers
- Taking turns with peers
- Joint attention
- Following group instructions
- Eye contact
- Cooperative play
- Problem solving skills
- Attending skills in a group setting
To be a candidate for our Social Skills Groups, your child must be able to sit in a group for at least 3 minutes without disruptive behavior, follow simple directions, speak independently in at least 3 word sentences and display general compliance to familiar and novel adults.
We feel PBS Playgroups are magical because our children become each other’s teachers and guides. We hope to see you there!
