Kristel is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and has over six years of experience working with children and adults with an array of developmental disabilities, primarily Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). She attended the University of Florida, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and Western New England University, where she earned her master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Kristel spent some time in Abu Dhabi, UAE, training teachers to utilize the principles of ABA, and developing programs to address the challenging behavior, functional communication, social skills and academic skills of students with ASDs. Kristel has worked with many bilingual families and children in their home and school settings. She has also worked closely with families and school districts to develop individualized education programs (IEP). Kristel has developed in-home, ABA-based early intervention curriculum for children with ASDs, and has trained staff and parents in the implementation of such curriculum. She hopes to continue to expand her knowledge and education in the field of ABA, as well as aid in the growth and development of those in need of services.
